Transductive Study

Description:

Transductive study questions the immutability of speakers and subwoofers as means of sound diffusion for electronic music. Here, these sacrosanct mediums are replaced by transducers affixed to a variety of materials, reproducing a multitude of simple sound sources.

Through a series of minimalistic and algorithmically composed scenes, the acoustic and physical qualities of the materials are explored. The auditory experience is augmented by the haptic and spatial effects created by the grid of diffusers, creating a deep listening experience and inviting the audience to explore the acoustic space.

The study is meant to be a first step towards exploring the possibilities offered by transduction for music and sound art.
