composition for no-input mixing board ensemble - 10 min
Permutations is a composition for a no-input mixing board ensemble based on a single, repeating, energetic trajectory, repeated through multiple timbral configurations. During the piece, a scrolling score organizes the recalcitrant sound produced by the consoles, with each performer fighting to maintain their timbral identity.
The piece was first performed live with Nicolas Bernier’s Ensemble d’oscillateurs for the University of Montreal’s Ultrasons festival on April 17 2024. The piece was recorded live on November 15 2025, at Montreal’s Espace Wilder during the Troubles et méandres concert organized by Codes d’accès in collaboration with Le Vivier.
