Composition for saxophone and amplified metal plate with feedback & electronics

Dans l’urgence, pas de panique
is a collaboration between experienced saxophone improviser David Caulet and experimental composer Alexandre Sasset-Blouin. The performance explores the tension between maintaining and relinquishing control. A chaotic, unstable, and decidedly DIY apparatus stands in contrast to the saxophone, an instrument shaped by a long tradition and mastered by an experienced performer. The performance unfolds through a fragile balance: an exercise in letting go that never entirely abandons a form of restraint. Situated between improvisation and composition, this work approaches thresholds of control as a shifting continuum, where stability is continually reconfigured by the intrusion of the unpredictable.
