Fixate by pliq (Alexandre Sasset-Blouin & Jean-Philippe Jullin) explores how fascination can slip into obsession through gaze, gesture, and contact. On stage, a network of feedback loops, cables, and metal surfaces is connected to a projected eye. The eye functions both as a vulnerable organ and as a device of control. The act of looking becomes an ambivalent gesture: capable of care and affection, but also carrying the risk of objectification and domination.

In Fixate, the performance gesture is the primary driver of the work. Touching a jack , supporting the weight of a cable, or a hand trembling on a metal plate alters the sound signal and simultaneously affects the projected eye, which blurs, contracts, or closes. Very small gestures unfold into dense noise textures, bursts of light, or nearly imperceptible micro-flickers.
